i took Digital Imaging 2, which had a intro to Illustrator but all that taught me was how to draw a stop sign with the pen tool, and how to make a screw driver... pfft wth? lol
we also had Walcom tablets, but i didn't use that thing. i'd rather draw the image on paper and then colorize it, bcuz there no way i can draw looking at a computer screen, or get the orientation right on the pen.
like most of my classes dealing with my major, i already know how to do all the crap in it. i practiced on illustrator for about a month before i took the class, to get used to it, and learn what was where and did what.
i still think illustrator is unorganized compared of PhotoShop. >< but at least i can get around in it now.
Yeah, I feel your pain, especially with the tablet. That thing is wild and totally out of control. However, if you practice for a week or two, you'll get so comfortable that you will not want to come back to drawing with a pen or pencil. Also, in my opinion, Illustrator is much simpler than Photoshop.
